In some special storylines, WWE forms a faction of three or more Superstars who help each other in achieving their goals. On certain occasions, WWE launches multiple new Superstars as a faction and then they go on to achieve a ton of success inside the squared circle.

It is no secret that the rumor mill is aware of what is going to happen in WWE before the company pulls off the move. In the same way, there were rumors that the Creative team will form some new factions in the last two years but, unfortunately, these factions did not come to fruition.

Also, there have been instances where the WWE Superstars expressed their desire to form a faction on WWE TV but the Creative paid no heed to their views.

Here’s a list of the 2 rumored factions that were never formed and 2 superstars who wanted to form their own faction but could not

#1 Rumored Faction - Triple H, Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe

When Kevin Owens was the WWE Universal Champion on RAW and Samoa Joe made his debut to help Triple H against Seth Rollins, the rumor mill was abuzz with the rumor that WWE will soon form a monstrous heel faction featuring the three Superstars.

The Game had led several successful factions, namely Evolution, DX, and The Authority, so the fans were not surprised with the rumor that he is now considering to form a group with his most trusted Superstars of NXT.

We could have seen a reign of terror on the red brand had this faction materialized. One can also imagine Kevin Owens turning face for the first time and ending his association with Triple H and Joe after the faction would have run its course.

#1 Superstar’s Wish - Dolph Ziggler’s faction of ‘Misfits’

Back in the month of February this year, the Showoff Dolph Ziggler said in an interview that he wanted to lead a faction of ‘misfits’ on WWE TV. This faction would comprise of Dolph Ziggler himself, the Major Brothers (Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins) and Mike Kanellis.

He wanted underutilized Superstars in his faction because he felt that they could achieve success as a team.

Here’s what the former World Heavyweight Champion had to say:

Dolph even said that this faction would stand up against the bigger stars so that the ‘misfits’ would gain the attention of WWE Universe.

However, Ziggler’s wish was left unfulfilled as the WWE Creative team inserted him in a WWE Championship feud with Kofi Kingston upon his return to WWE.

#2 Rumored Faction - Rey Mysterio, Pentagon Jr and Fenix

When Rey Mysterio returned to WWE in 2018, the rumors were rife that WWE has big plans of forming a Latin American faction on WWE TV. Pentagon Jr. and Fenix, better known as the Lucha Bros, were expected to team up with Mysterio on the blue brand. This faction could have proven to be a game changer because all the three wrestlers are supremely talented.

One can only imagine what would have happened if WWE actually signed Pentagon Jr. and Fenix in 2018 and then booked a feud between the Latin American stable and The Shield.

The Lucha Bros. have signed with WWE’s rival wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling. They even performed at AEW’s first event, Double or Nothing, where they put up a solid match with the Young Bucks.

Looking at the current state of the WWE tag team division, it would have been a masterstroke had WWE formed this Mexican stable.

#2 Superstar’s Wish - Finn Balor’s strongest faction

In a candid interview in November 2017, the first ever Universal Champion, Finn Balor revealed the stars that he wanted in his dream faction. The Irishman picked his friends, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson as the first two members of his group and then he said that he would have Akam and Rezar, the Authors of Pain by his side to cement himself as the top guy.

Finn Balor was quoted as follows:

The WWE Creative agreed to pair Balor with Gallows and Anderson on WWE TV but since Balor always has always been a face character on TV, the backstage officials would not have considered pairing him with a heel tag team.
