Many of the indie games on the list have previously been showcased as part of the ID@Xbox program. For example, 12 Minutes, the violent murder mystery where time repeats itself, and Shredders, the visually impressive snowboarding game, have both been previously highlighted. But it’s each game’s console exclusivity on Xbox that’s the key part of this announcement.

There’s no other common thread between the indie games, outside of them being Xbox console launch exclusives. Five are planned to launch in 2020, eight are planned for 2021, and two don’t have release dates yet. It’s also left unsaid whether each game will be launching on Xbox One or Xbox Series X, though it wouldn’t be surprising if most of these games support both. Also, given that they’re all Xbox console exclusives when they launch, they’ll likely also come to PC and will eventually come to other platforms like PS4/PS5 or Switch.
The full list of indie games includes 12 Minutes, Dead Static Drive, Exo One, Lake, Last Stop, Mad Streets, Sable, Song of Iron, The Artful Escape, The Ascent, The Big Con, The Falconeer, Tunic, and Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy. Xbox gamers can expect more information regarding each individual game in the months to come.
